Product Demo Video
“Our product demo was putting people to sleep. We needed something that felt like a film, not a tutorial.”

Numbers that speak for themselves.
What we were up against.
The client's product is a comprehensive people management platform used by over 5,000 companies. Their existing demo video was a 15-minute screen recording with a voiceover that sounded like it was reading from a manual. Completion rate was 8%.
The product marketing team knew they needed something better, but they faced a specific challenge: the platform has 14 core product modules, and each prospect cares about different ones. A linear demo couldn't serve all audiences.
They also had a brand problem. Competitors were producing sleek, high-production-value videos. Their demo looked like it was made in 2019 — because it was. The visual gap was costing them credibility with enterprise buyers who judge vendor maturity by presentation quality.
The goal was a single hero demo that could serve as the centerpiece of their marketing, while also being cut into shorter, module-specific versions for paid social and email campaigns.
How we tackled it.
We took a fundamentally different approach to the demo format. Instead of walking through features sequentially, we structured the video around user stories.
First, we interviewed 12 customers to understand the moments that matter most. The themes that emerged were consistent: performance reviews that actually drive growth, goals that connect to business outcomes, and engagement data that predicts turnover before it happens.
Those three themes became the backbone of the video. Each section opens with a real-world scenario, shows how the product addresses it, and closes with a tangible outcome.
For the visual approach, we used a hybrid technique: real UI capture enhanced with motion graphics overlays. This gives the authenticity of a real product walkthrough but the polish and energy of a produced video. Every UI element was carefully composed — we didn't just record the screen, we directed it.
The pacing was critical. We used a technique we call "breathing rhythm" — 15 seconds of narrative, 10 seconds of product demonstration, 5 seconds of outcome visualization. This rhythm keeps viewers engaged because it constantly shifts between story and proof.
What we delivered.
The 2:30 hero demo is structured as a three-chapter film:
Chapter 1 — Performance That Drives Growth (0–50s):
We follow a fictional manager, "Alex," who's struggling to run effective performance reviews. Through motion-enhanced UI, we show Alex discovering the review cycle feature, setting up a 360 review in real-time, and watching her team's engagement scores rise. The section ends with a data callout: "Teams using the platform see 24% higher employee engagement."
Chapter 2 — Goals That Connect (50–110s):
The camera shifts to a different scenario — a company aligning individual goals to OKRs. We show the goal cascade feature, the real-time progress tracking, and the automated check-in reminders. The visual language shifts slightly to emphasize connection and alignment — nodes connecting, progress bars syncing, dashboards unifying.
Chapter 3 — Data That Predicts (110–140s):
The final chapter focuses on the engagement analytics. We show the heatmap view, the eNPS tracking, and the turnover risk dashboard. This is the most data-heavy section, so we used animated data visualizations overlaid on the real UI to make the numbers feel alive.
Outro (140–150s):
A clean, confident CTA with the product logo and "Request a personalized demo."
The video was also cut into three 45-second standalone clips and six 15-second social cuts, each with its own opening hook optimized for silent autoplay.
